Just so you know, I have about 5 different instruments here, i1pro, i1d2, spy2, spy3, huey, dtp92, optix and a few others like CS-100 and PR-704. It's very tempting to buy used and I most of my instruments were bought used. But, whenever possible, financially, it's better to buy new. That way, any measurement errors can be traced to the particularity of the instrument itself and not the environment in which it was used previously, or the fact that it might have drifted over time and it is due for a recalibration. I have paid for recalibration on a few occasions and it was worth it. In your case, a new Spyder3 would be a good investment. For all the hard work you're putting in color managing your system. New Spyder3pro can be have for as low as $150 US http://cgi.ebay.com/Brand-New-Colorvision-S3P100-Spyder3Pro-Spyder3-Pro_W0QQ itemZ280489746195QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item414e7ddf13 That is pretty cheap compared to what Optix and other instruments used to cost new, a few years ago.
