Apologies for the delayed reply.  The issue is not with the repo for DisplayCal or ArgyllCMS (so I'm told). The problem (or the bit of it I think I understand) is that Python 2.7 is no longer available in the version of Debian that is the basis of Mint 20 - it's now Python 3.8. But there is no version of DisplayCal that will run with this version of Python. The DisplayCal author has said that this is 'work in progress'..

What's the problem with ArgyllCMS in Mint? If it's not in their repos you can use Ubuntu/Debian ones, they're usually interchangeable. I do it all the time :-) even though I just use Debian

From the little I understand, I know not to expect to be able to use
DisplayCAL or Argyll in Mint 20 and not to hold my breath waiting for
it. Is there an alternative for this environment which could be
installed and used by an aged individual with no ability to compile
anything in the Linux environment ?
