For an _additive output device_ (where the reproduced color is a linear 
combination of the colors of the three primaries), these tags represent indeed 
the colors of the three primaries.

For other devices, these are just the columns of a best-fit RGB to XYZ 
transformation matrix, having no particular meaning.
