Not in the direction of Device->PCS, at least not in the original concept of
gamut mapping. The „output gamut“ that you are referring to is rather the
direct characteristics of the device colors in the PCS space (LAB, XYZ), which
is based on the chart measurement, i.e. from the printer/media/ink/process. It
connects device values to measurements (LAB).
As you may know an ICC (LUT-based) includes at least two tables, usually 6,
where one direction specified PCS->Device (B2A) and the other direction
Device->PCS (A2B). In your example the latter is used (PS Info, Color Picker,
etc.).
So why is it different if you change the PS RI in Color Settings? Again, if
wtpt is not LAB 100/0/0, then the relative colorimetric (media relative) and
absolute colorimetric (say i.e. white point LAB 90/-1/+2) will deliver a
different „rendering“ when presenting device colors in LAB. Note that with both
rel.col. and abs.col., in your case, the A2B1 table will be used with the
difference of not applying the white point (default, LAB 100/0/0, rel.col.
media relative) or by applying the white point (wtpt) in the ICC profile which
then would be abs.col.

However, wouldn't using a rendering intent also require specification of an
output gamut? What does a rendering intent per se actually mean in this
case? This is, what puzzles me.
