Hi,
I just evaluated an otherwise healthy man dx with RCC, post nephrectomy 4
years ago. Surgeons removed T11 for access (surg. report unavailable). He
now has a ipsilateral, *large* *pseudo hernia* secondary to the T11
intercostal denervation that for the most part is painless but can
occasionally "sting".

This article suggests pseudo-hernias are innocuous but it seems like PT
should suggest appropriate compression for exercise.
Patient wants to start a Livestrong program; they referred him to me.
Surgeons don't want to place mesh or intervene. He uses the post op white
surgical binder "sometimes" in daily life but it's not comfortable enough
to exercise in and the bulge is high up enough to be difficult to control
with bike shorts
Rehab recommendations so that he can participate in weight training and
general exercise without it worsening? Or perhaps, since not a true
hernia, it won't get worse??
