Call for Nominations of APTA Oncology BFSIG Executive Board Members
The APTA Oncology Balance and Falls Special Interest Group (Onc BFSIG) is
seeking nominations for two Executive Board Members. These leadership
positions are Chair and Secretary. The eligibility and duties for each
position are listed below. Each officer serves a two-year term and mentors
their successor for one year after their term. Elected officers must be
present at the Combined Sections Meeting 2022 Onc BFSIG business meeting to
accept the position. *You can nominate yourself!* Please fill out the
attached nomination form and return it to oncbfsig@xxxxxxxxx by October
1.
The Onc BFSIG Board will be contacting nominees to obtain their bios. Bios
will be due by 10/15. The slate of candidates and their bios will be
distributed to the Onc BFSIG members for review after 10/21. Election will
be held from 11/1 to 11/15.
Qualifications of Onc BFSIG Executive Board Members:
1.
Must be in good standing with the APTA and APTA Oncology.
2.
Must have consented to serve.
3.
Must have attended at least one Onc BFSIG meeting prior to the
election. *This
includes any Onc BFSIG CSM business meetings, webinars, town halls, or
project meetings*
Duties of Chair:
1.
Manage the Onc BFSIG as a whole and make sure that all of its efforts
are in line with APTA Oncology, and are directed towards fulfilling the Onc
BFSIG goals and objectives.
2.
Serve as official spokesperson for the Onc BFSIG .
3.
Foster the development and growth of the Onc BFSIG .
4.
Act as liaison between the Onc BFSIG and APTA Oncology.
5.
Preside over all SIG business and SIG Executive Board meetings.
6.
Report to APTA Oncology BOD and APTA Oncology Executive Director for
direction and approval of Onc BFSIG meetings and events.
7.
Report to the APTA Oncology BOD to keep APTA Oncology updated on Onc
BFSIG activities.
8.
Prepare agenda for all meetings and provide to all the SIG Executive
Board members in advance of the meeting.
9.
Oversee communication to APTA Oncology with upcoming events, including
making sure Onc BFSIG homepage on APTA Oncology website is updated or
delegating this task to Director of Membership/Communications.
10.
Develop Onc BFSIG Programming at conferences or delegating this task to
Director of Professional Growth/Educational Resources.
11.
Develop the annual budget request to APTA Oncology BOD and oversee
budget including submitting forms and receipts to APTA Executive Director
for reimbursement.
12.
Work collaboratively with APTA Oncology.
13.
Conduct Onc BFSIG Executive Board orientation.
Duties of Secretary:
1.
Document and share Onc BFSIG meeting minutes on the Onc BFSIG homepage.
2.
Maintain the Onc BFSIG calendar, notify Onc BFSIG members and the
Executive Board of upcoming meetings and events.
3.
Assist Chair with the development of a budget and reconcile spending
against the budget quarterly and provide annual reports to be presented at
APTA Oncology BOD meeting.
4.
Submit forms and receipts to APTA Oncology Executive Director for
reimbursement.
5.
Manage the Executive Board elections.
6.
Work collaboratively with the Director of Membership/Communications to
update the Onc BFSIG homepage and promote the Onc BFSIG via social media.
