Subject: Great News!!!
Larry, can you please forward to the NASA community.
Dad received some great news last week. The treatments are working and, based
on his bone marrow tests, he is in "remission"!!! That is fantastic news and we
are all very excited that this new treatment is working so well.
As expected, he will continue his current monthly treatment routine for many
months ahead. But that's ok since the leukemia has been beaten back and the
side effects of the chemo are not too bad. His immune system is still
depressed, but showing signs of recovery. Otherwise, he feels fine and is in
very good spirits. The monthly routine will consist of daily trips to MDA
during Week 1, but then (mostly) staying in Clear Lake the next three weeks
along with the "overhead" of regular blood draws and doctor visits.
We are all so very grateful for the many prayers and well wishes from the NASA
community. Thanks to all of you for your continued support!
