Hi Mike,
Thanks for your reply. There again, I actually prefer the 20-cell display. I
guess the Chameleon was the right choice for me and I’m glad that at least for
now, so many options are out there.

Hi Pam, For me it's the 40 cells and the qwerty keyboard. I am comfortable
using a braille keyboard, but really over the years I have been using qwerty
keyboards for work and my personal stuff. The Chameleon fills a niche, and
with 20 cells it's competition could become the NLS 20 cell displays; though
I know the Chameleon does more.
I think I would use the Mantis for simple note taking more, if the editor was
a bit more robust. I like the Mantis very much.

Subject: [aphmantischameleonuser] Re: Any software updates planned for the
Mantis?
I am a very happy Chameleon user and would like to see many of the updates
mentioned here for that as well. This might be a good thread to ask this
question: I’ve noticed that most on this list seem to be Mantis users which
makes me wonder if the Chameleon will go by the way-side sooner rather than
later. I hope that won’t be the case. But I’m wondering what people see as
advantages to the Mantis over the Chameleon? Is it the Qwerty keyboard that
people prefer? I just really like the portability of the Perkins keyboard,
and I like that speech is an option as people who don’t want it can always
turn it off.
Thanks in advance for any feedback.

I would love to see a larger file size. Several of my APEX files won’t open
on the Mantis. I would also love to see the other improvements suggested by
Lynn and James. Thank you, Sylvia.

I would like to add support for EPUB files. Over two years ago, I heard
that was in the planning stages.

I am a very happy Mantis user. Having said that, however, I was wondering
if any updates were being planned. There are three on my wish list. first,
could we move the time and date change to settings? With daylight savings
time having occurred last night, I had to change my settings for that
which I figured would be in the settings menu, but it was located in the
main menu. Also, is it possible to have the mantis update it’s time
automatically like some other machines do, such as my iPhone? Secondly,
could we please have better NLS support? Third, I wish we could have an
easier way to transfer information from iOS to the Mantis. I just wish
that could somehow be made easier. Tthese are just a few things I wish we
could see improved, but I am still a very happy customer and love my
Mantis.
