Hello to everyone on this rather quiet list!
I've just been doing some elementary experiments with the SecureSockets
module, which has prompted me to look at secure POP3 (which AntiSpam
does) and secure SMTP (which neither AntiSpam nor POPstar does, AFAICS).
I have been able to get a TLS and an SSL connection to my email service
provider's SMTP server, using a very noddy BASIC app, so it can't be
all that difficult.
OK, if we want secure SMTP (presumably via TLS), there are two obvious
1) Make POPstar use the SecureSockets module;
2) Add SMTP functionality to AntiSpam.
A very cursory search hasn't found the source code to POPstar. If
anyone knows better (and this really means a recent version), please
let me know.
Frank, how about option 2?
