Absolutely no need for that. Changed settings are effective immediately
after clicking Save or OK. Depending on the Run settings, you may need
to select Reload Settings from the main menu to start things up, but
that's it.
I reset the 'Diversion file' and the 'Defaulted file' settings
(AntiSpam Choices => Mailbox => General) to <AntiSpam$Dir>.DivertTo
and <AntiSpam$Dir>.DefaultTo.
That won't work. As I told you before, they need to be somewhere Pluto
can find them. Right now the only sensible place is a file inside
!POPstar.MailDir.spool.mail.text.
Then you should make sure the settings to manipulate defaulted and
diverted messages are set (Choices window / Scan frame). That should
make AntiSpam put those messages out of the way until you either delete
or accept them in the Marking window. Setting the Marking window to open
after a run can be useful as well.

P.S.
Please also check the setting for the number of body text lines to
process on the Mailbox/General frame of the Choices window. There should
not be any text in that field, just -- or a number (only a number if
you actually *want* AntiSpam to look at the body text, of course -
usually you won't want to).
