I think this might be the problem. Bear in mind that a normal ROAgreed.
user has no idea that the internal format of message files is
different from normal text files. If this "Save as" option
generated files that couldn't sensibly be opened (in eg !Edit)
users would have been unhappy.

the Export box I selected Header Original, the other settings I
left as default. I've dropped it into SparkFS-Zip and attached it.
I had a look and it contains Carriage Return line terminations!
