Hello Antelopes!
Thank you for the info, John! My regular FirstAid/CPR/AED expires in 3 months,
so it’s great to know there are options!
Hope everyone is doing well and healthy. My troop managed to do a couple of
in-person patrol meeting and hike following a strict council protocol but
everything got shut down again yesterday. The troop still meets via zoom every
week, and we’ll keep scouting.
Stay safe. :)

Greetings fellow Antelopes!
Like me, I think some of you might be looking for a wilderness first aid course
to fulfill your Wood Badge goals. I managed to find some classes through NOLS
(National Outdoor Leadership School) and REI. These are two day
(Saturday/Sunday, 8 hours each) courses and meet BSA and American Red Cross
certification for wilderness first aid.

I signed up for the course in Ventura on February 13 & 14 (there's a wait list
for the January course in San Diego). And if you really want to take a drive
there's even more offerings further out. If you're an REI member, you can get
a discount on the course. These are live, socially distanced courses.
Unfortunately all the BSA Councils that normally host these courses have put
them on hold due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Also, if you need to certify or re-certify your regular Adult and Pediatric
First Aid/CPR/AED, the American Red Cross still has plenty of options, most
being partially online and partially on site. I'm doing this prior to going to
the wilderness course as mine expired a while back.

So if you're looking for these types of training courses, I hope this helps!

Subject: [antelopes] Just Checking In...
Happy Fall, my dear Antelopes!
Just checking to see how everyone is doing on your tickets, and if you need to
revise any of them with me?
Let me know how I can help you, and please share any resources or classes you
might come across that has been open recently like First Aid or CPR. Many of
you want to do it as your ticket, so let's share your resources to help one
another.
Thank you!
