*FEATURING -- COLOMBIA
Threads of healing*
Ten years ago, paramilitary troops violently forced an entire town in Colombia to leave home. Some of those displaced residents found healing through quilting their stories. Read about their stories and the quilts in the Fall 2010 issue of /A Common Place/online if you haven't already received the MCC magazine in your mailbox. E-mail acp [at] mcc [dot] org to request a printed copy of this issue.

The slide show,* */Colombia: Quilting a Community's History,/ illustrates the quilted story of a Colombian community's displacement and history with close-up pictures of sections of the quilts. >> _mcc.org/stories/galleries_ <http://mcc.org/stories/galleries/colombia-quilting-communitys-history>

*Dramatic reading activity*
Experience the story of a displaced community in Colombia through "Voices of Mampuján," a dramatic reading activity that explores people's stories and memories of being forced from home. This script, designed to be used by church classes or groups, features the same community highlighted on the cover of the Fall 2010 issue of MCC's magazine, /A Common Place/. "Keyla's Story" is a shorter dramatic reading that tells the community's story through the eyes of a young adult. >> _acommonplace.mcc.org _ <http://acommonplace.mcc.org/> (Look for links on the right)
