WESTERN DISTRICT CONFERENCE announces the resignation of Hugo Saucedo as
Conference Youth Minister (Texas) effective July 31, 2008 as he has been
named the Director of Mennonite Voluntary Service for Mennonite Mission
Network of Mennonite Church USA. Hugo served in youth ministry in a
one-half time position since September, 2004 and created a network of
youth, youth leaders, and congregations who are developing a vision for
Mennonite leadership. We thank Hugo for his extraordinary service and
we are thrilled he will remain in San Antonio and be part of the
congregations there. NITA WILSON, now of Dallas and serving as a church
planter intern with Marco Guete, has been named the Interim Conference
Youth Minister on a 1/2 time basis, beginning July 15, until a permanent
conference youth minister is named. We thank God for her gifts in youth
ministry and her recent connections with WDC congregations in
Texas--both of which are vital in this transition time.
