Peter, we transported our Amaya in our small TrailBlazer and did fine. We
did put pillows around the sides just for protection because we were
traveling in January. We also had to remove the top tube section which
wasn't a big deal either. The machine just lifts off of the stand--it only
sits on it. I'm sure you would have room in a Surburban. Just be sure you
lift the machine off from both sides at the bottom--don't lift using parts
of the machine. And whatever you do, DO NOT PUT ANYTHING AGAINST THE NEEDLE
CASE AREA (the front of the machine). Never carry the machine up stairs
with the front of the machine facing down the stairs and against you. It is
very fragile and it might mean having to replace it. As for the weight of
the machine--I think it is somewhere around 180-185 pounds. Rod and I lift
ours--one on each side.
