If you don't think it is the machine, it coul be the humidity level in the 
room.  It could also be dry thread.  If the humidity is low, static can build 
causing random thread breaks.  If you are running a heater, is it possible it 
is near a vent where the hot/warm air is hitting the machine/thread?
