Susan,
When sewing on Leather, It's recommended to use "leather needles". That
sounds funny doesn't it.
A Leather Needle has a "Sharp Chisel Point" designed to cut slits instead of
holes in the fabric.

I guess that could be another option if you wanted to try.

PS, what did the tech do to your machine?

Ed

Hi Sharon,
Any idea where I can get a pressure sensitve
backing--maybe locally? This morning I was wondering
about using some black cutaway and fabric glue. I've
never really tried fabric glue to know how well it
works. Or even black duct tape. I think it will be
fine if I can just keep it from being pulled at too
much. Luckily I only have one bag and I it will now
just be a freebie. But I really want to protect the
bag from coming apart in the future.

I wonder what the normal density is for leather?? My
satin stitching was D=4. The lettering looks really
nice but it is on the verge of the cookie cut out.

By the way, my machine is stitching wonderfully ever
since the tech came out!!
