No problem. I have never done fur before but that seems like the most
logical way how to do it. Please use test material before sewing on the real
thing and let me know how it works out. (Or if you use a different way.)

Thanks, Steve! That makes a little more sense to me.

Hotmail really messed that last email up. It looks OK in my sent folder but
weird on the message board.

Try using a sharp needle with 2 layers of tearaway and solvy topping. Also
use a double zig-zag underlay. If the letters are taller than 2" then use a
fill stitch instead of a satin stitch. I hope this goes through OK this
time.

Do you mean by a double 2" to use 2" lettering and stitch the lettering 2
times? Would you do the first layer fill and the second layer satin?

It's fake fur, fairly long fibers (1"), and just lettering.

What kind of fur is it? And is it just lettering or a design.

Hi all,
Any quick suggestions for embroidery on fur? This is a double layer at the
top of a Christmas stocking. I have the slimline clamps. I have sample
fabrics to test on.

Thanks,

Mary
