Juli, check to see if you have the "Free Form Digitizing Mode" icon is
highlited in your upper toolbar. It is right next to the "Edit Mode" icon on
the left side of the screen. It sounds as if you have this selected and al you
need to do is left click on the icon to go back to standard way of click,
click, da clickity clicking you are used to.
This may be the same tool you are refering to, altho, I find it difficult to
freehand outline using a mouse with this tool. It would work great with one of
those pen setups that you point and touch for digitizing with....
