I have done many afghans from Pure Country myself and really hate doing them 
because they are so bulky.  I iron a layer of fusible nylon mesh to the back 
and then add another layer of regular nylon mesh.  You really need the fusible 
to keep the afghan from moving around.  Then I also put a layer of water 
soluble plastic on top.  I also raise my presser foot considerably and raise my 
thread feed 2-3 numbers. Good luck!!   Debbie in Indiana
