Start with your Machine and AOS off. Open AOS but do not turn on the machine at this time. When you get the grey AOS screen, in the upper toolbar, click on "Tools", "Options", "Ethernet" and make sure "Force download" is checked. Apply/OK yourself out of this screen. Now back to the upper toolbar and select "Configuration". I am assuming that we are discussing a 1 machine hookup and AOS is not being used in what they call the "Advanced" mode. You cannot perform a configuration in the advanced mode in Ver7. Follow the steps as they come up on the screen exactly. It is pretty clear and easy to follow the instructions and you should have no problem. If after first starting the Configuration process and after it instructs you to turn on your machine, the screen shows in the display box that there is 0 machines recognized then the first thing to look at is the cable connection from the computer to the machine. Try a different port for the dongle/security key....let me know how this goes for you. If this is a single machine hookup, you should be running the yellow crossover cable from the cable to the machine. If you are running throught a hub or switch you should be using ethernet cables from the computer to the hub and from the hub to the computer. It is my understanding that there are "smart switchs" that will recognize a crossover cable and convert them. But, for the most part, stick wiht the simplest method, just one less thing to go wrong. =========================================================== The AmayaUsers Mailing List Website: http://www.amayausers.com Discussion Board: http://www.amayausers.com/boards Subscribe/Unsubscribe: http://www.amayausers.com/list ===========================================================
