Big Red is a "Non-XT Amaya, but, if, or, and, except whether or not you have 
one of the "pre-production" XT"S that were also red & white. 

Just remember that the goal of the presser foot is to hold the material down to 
help the needle break free of the fabric and keep the fabric from lifting 
(flagging). All the way up, down 1 or 2, all the way down, up 1 or 2, whatever, 
are just guidelines. Set the presser foot according to the material you are 
sewing on. 

If you are sewing on fleece or blankets, jackets with thick linings, towels, 
etc, compress the material with the presser foot, don't just let the presser 
foot down to touch the top of the material, compress it like squeezing it 
between your thumb and forefinger......
