MessageWe had the same problem with one of our four.
They thought it was the Ethernet cable
inside the machine that connects the
back connector to the motherboard.
It seemed to work for a while but they determined
it to be a bad motherboard and had to replace it.
Fortunately it was still under warranty.

But we must have tried everything, and couldn't
make the problem happen consistently. Then somedays
no matter what we tried the machine wouldn't register
on the network. You may try switching the cables
around in different order on you Hub/Switch and then restart
your computer and OS, Maybe you'll be lucky and find
its just a bad or loose Ethernet connection and only have
to replace a cable or hub.
Start there at least and use the hub port and cable from
a known good machine and connection and see if
it finds the machine and or the problem transfers to a different machine.

We'll keep our fingers crossed that it's something simple.

  Subject: [amayausers] One machine down

  Hi Amaya Land,

Can some one help me with this problem. I have one machine out of three that
sporadically had a problem of not registering on the OS software. Now it won't
come up at all on the software when I fire everything up. Just need some ideas
on what could be going on.

I have already started trouble shooting the connection cord to see if that is
it. Anything else?
