Hi,

I'm looking to remove myself from this forum.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Hi Dorothy,

Some answers to your questions. I will try and answer in the areas below
where you ask the questions.

[JBanks] I think a couple of others may have answered your questions
regarding this. The Auto Actieed likes a little tighter bobbin. If the
bobbon case gets dirty and it goes loose, the auto actifeed will quit
working correctly.

[JBanks] We broke the ability to edit in the editing side of the Amaya OS
software when Design Shop is not installed. This is a bug, and it is fixed
for the 2006.5 release.

[JBanks] The ability to change backgrounds was removed quite awhile back
for some programming reasons. We have not added it back in due to zero
requests for it. But, there is still a back door type of change to it
available. Click on the Color Sequence button, then right click on one of
the needle number buttons in the Color Sequence Window. When the Color
Properties Windows opens change the color number to 0. 0 is always
background color. Select a background color then click on Apply. This will
set the background color for you.

[JBanks] You should still be able to use the Start key to move forward real

slowly. You may have to press it then release it to get it started sewing,
then press and hold it right away again. I did it here and it works for me
as I described.

[Jbanks] Make sure that Force Download is on in the Ethernet TAB. Go to
Tools/Options then the Ethernet TAB. If force download is not on, click on
it to make sure it is on. The other thing is when loading a new design,
click on Reset Design, the load it. This should eliminate the errors. Some
of them I bet are when loading the first design of the day. The Start Up
sequences in the machine are messed up with this new release. We fixed some
things, and broke others. This is why I am saying to turn on Force Download.

This puts the machine in a know state at start up. This entire thing should
be fixed with the 2006.5 release.

[JBanks] The machine has a 410mm x 400mm (16.1"x15.7") no matter what size
hoop you put on it. The hoop arms can only move so far and then you are
going to run into the physical limits. The screen for the Amaya shows teh
sewing field as dotted lines on the screen. You can cahnge teh display to
the selected hoop and see what the sew field is. The 43 X 50 hoop is a hoop
we offered with some earlier Melco machines that had larger sewing fields.
They were also originally meant for a machine with a table top which limited

hoop movements and supported the garment. Melco wanted these customers to be

able to use these hoops on the new Amaya's so they did not have to buy new
hoops. There are also some who bought them that are doing large Tackle Twill

lettering on athletic jerseys that needed the added room at the bottom, not
for sewing but ease of letter placement on the garments.
It will depend on the garment being sewn if you can just turn the garment
and hoop around. Shirts with closed necks are not going to work as you will
be trying to sew on them through the holes for the head which is not going
to allow a full range of movement without binding. Flat materials would work

ok, or button down fronts etc. The trick is in the digitizing to make
everything line up correctly. Melco has never created a hoop of this type,
but perhaps it would be worth looking into if there are applications for it?
