Susan,

I missed Jeff's post on that. What is the tension range for the bobbin?

Dorothy,

I had problems periodically with the material thickness getting stuck on =
MT2
as well when using the auto actifeed. The best thing I did was to =
purchase
a Towa bobbin tension gauge (TM-1 purchased from
http://columbiariverquilting.com/towa_bobbin_case_tension_guage.html).  =
As
soon as I check the tension on my bobbin (as per Jeff Banks suggested
tension range), I invariably discover that it is too loose for the =
bobbin in
the case. So far, this has worked for me.

Subject: [amayausers] New OS issues & hoop idea

Hi all,
=20
I've been working with the new OS (v.7.00.018). I have a few issues =
that
I'd=20
like some help with:
=20
1. The acti-feed system seems to be working most of the time but every =
once

in awhile it gets stuck on 1 or 2 and of course ends up causing a thread =

break. I usually end up switching to standard with a decent setting but =
I'd
like=20
to figure out why. It affects different needles. I've made no =
adjustments
to=20
the bobbin (I also installed the new rollers). Any ideas?
=20
2. I can no longer press the DS button that used to allow me to move =20
different objects around (lettering, design). This used to be really =
handy
if I  just=20
needed to move the lettering down a bit closer to the design. [I don't =
have

any version of DS but I could still do some manipulating through the =
OS.]
=20
3. Is there a way to change the background color in the control panel =
view?

I used to be able to change it to a thread color but I can't seem to
anymore.=20
This was really handy for white thread designs. [I think this =
disappeared
at=20
the previous upgrade.]
=20
4. I used to be able to press and hold the green button and as long as I =
=20
held the button, the machine would step through the stitches (like when =
just

beginning a new color to set the thread). [I think this also disappeared =
at
the =20
previous upgrade.]
=20
5. I am also having to attempt to load a design more than once as it =20
frequently hangs up in sending the design to the machine (Design =
download
denied).=20
This used to happen only rarely and is now happening quite often. Any
ideas?
=20
=20
Now for a hoop idea.
I purchased the 43cm by 50cm hoop thinking the sewing field would be =
longer

but only to find it has the same sewing field as the 43cm by 43cm. =
Anyway, =20
rather than return it and buy another 43 x 43 hoop (not worth the =
shipping
and I=20
 really want the bigger sewing field), I have an idea. Does anyone have =
a=20
broken wooden emt/amaya hoop they no longer want? I'd like to see if I
could =20
attach a second set of mounting brackets in the reverse direction so I =
could

just turn the garment around and sew the bottom (now the top) without =20
re-hooping. Do you think it would work? Right now the mounting brackets =
are
not =20
centered but set towards the top of the hoop, so if I place the second =
set
in  the=20
opposite direction but at the same distance I could expand my sewing =
field =20
with only having to reverse the garment on the machine. What do you =
think?
=20
That's it for now. Thanks for any and all advice.
