Are THEY offering insurance coverage on damage? Just one slip with someone helping to unload it-and your $15,000 machine is useless...and warranty won't cover something like that! I know there are a few owners that have done it...hopefully they can chime in and give you some hints. But for me, to figure a 4 hour event...means 2-3 hours of getting it ready to transport, packing up backing, solvy, thread, etc....then transport, another hour to unpack and set up...then turn a round to head home...another couple hours (NOT including driving time to whereever!) So you have killed easily 12 or more hours. You have to decide...how many articles can you really sew out in 4 hours, probably each one a custom job? Compared to how many customer jobs get put off another day. Each 'custom' shirt...even if its the same design but a name change, means you have to stop, go into design shop, setup the name, send to the amaya, set up and hoop, sew, trim, etc. Are they really going to pay you ENOUGH for 12 hours of your time? Lets say they will pay you $300, sounds great for 4 hours...that's $75 per hour. BUT you actually are spending 10 hours to really do it-from tear down and packing to bringing it home and setting it up again...AND you need at least 2 strong backs at home to load and unload. Now you are only making $30 per hour... is it really worth it? And one airhead trips trying to 'help' you slide it out of your van...oops, it's on the ground now, needlehead buried in the tar. Don't think you are going to still get paid! And no warranty for this damage...you're out $3500 or more... as Clint Eastwood says...."ask yourself, do you feel lucky? Do you?"
