Steve,
At the beginning of your post you mentioned "Old Smokey," later on you said
that while on the phone with tech support they had you check the knife and
selector motor. So I'm assuming that you actually have an Amaya XT.
If that's the case, try changing the needles on the colors that you were
having miss trims on. Too many missed trims on the same needle can bent it,
especially if after the trim the machine color changes over to another color
several
needles away. If this doesn't solve the problem then you most likely have a
bent knife cable or selector cable.
If its a non XT check your knife swipe. the procedures are in the Tech manual
supplied with your machine software.
