        I forgot to say, get the ones with the rubber coated tips.  Not the 
plastic
ones.

Hi Rod,
Are these strong, little, low profile clamps the same
as the clamps used for hooping caps??  If not, where
can I find some??  I have tried the paper clamps from
office stores but they seem to pop off for me or get
in the way while sewing.
