The best results I have had so far is a tearway (light) backing, and solvy on
the front.
You might have to play with the pressor foot setting and manual thread setting
to keep it from getting too tight. So far I've had no problem with using the
'auto' setting but pressor foot setting is key to a 'loose' pattern-you don't
want it too tight. After sewing, you 'stretch' the hat between your fingers and
the tearaway tears off itself-almost falling right away. We have a hand held
'steamer for any solvy that didn't also 'tear off' when you stretch it out.
I'm hoping this new backing from Fred might help with the density and movement
problem.
