You really should need only one layer of a wet laid soft dense  non woven 
cutaway 2 to 3 ozs to match your stitch count and stitch density

Unless its a light color and you can see the backing thru the shirt then one 
lyyer of the no show w diagonal mesh for about 1212,000 stitches = If you add a 
tearaweay - it will hold more stitches and improve definition esp on lettering
