Our rule of thumb for placement: Adult shirts- L, Xl and up.... if it is a wide but not tall image, center of design would be between 4-6 inches from the bottom of the collar (adams apple area) unless it is a v-neck. (look at a 3 button polo shirt-about 2 inches below the bottom button). Usually this will be about the seam area for the bottom of the armpit sleeve- approximately 'nipple' high (no offense, ladies...nothing else to use for reference point!) For a 'tall' design, the whole design gets centered so that it is between the belly button and bottom of throat-so nothing falls below the belt line or hidden under the chin. For just a 'name' or small logo, left chest, (on polo shirt- even with or centered on-the bottom button on 3 button shirt, 2nd button up on 4 button shirt.) Easy way to double check-just browse your local chain store (Wallyworld, etc.) and see the 'graphic' shirts in the clothing area and measure. For kids shirts- now you only have about a 12" area to work with. Where adult 'name' is 4" below the top of shoulder, on a kid-that's halfway down his chest-so bring it up to 3/4 or 1/2 of the distance the adult logo is-again, full image-just above the armpit line. Watch kids soccer leagues-you can spot the shirts that were done wrong-the team name or number is around the waist on the little kids-okay on the big kids. Means that shop didn't compensate for the small shirts!
