That spec shouldn't have any issues running things... honestly. The only
think you don't mention is what your video specs are.
I wonder if hardware acceleration or video drivers might be holding you back.
Is this new or have you had it a while?
One thing you might consider doing a system restore to the factory state,
updating XP with all the updates, and then only installing ds 9 and seeing how
it goes. About every 2 years, I wipe my system to get rid of all the crap that
accumulates and to get things running fresh again.
Adding more ram is always good but 2gb should be fine in XP with DS9. I am
running it on a slower processor with about the same amount of ram fine.
