Jerome,

Guess I would have to disagree on a couple of counts ......first DS is probably
one of the most user friendly digitizing programs I know of. But, none of the
programs out there are easy if you don't know how to use them....

The #11 fill is the same as #1 fill, #12 fill is the same as #2 fill, #13 fill
is the same as #3 fill and so on......you really only have 10 different types
of "fill". Don't ask me why they did this...that is just the way it is....you
can change the "partition sequence" and change the look of the fills also. For
those that like to experiment try this.....select a #8 or #18 fill, set the
stitch angle to 13 degrees, set the stitch length to 73 pts and create a
fill....it makes a pretty good looking corduroy fill that can be used in a lot
of designs.....

Pattern fills are different altogether. Depending on what level of DS that you
have, there are a great many pattern fills that can be utilized. By selecting a
pattern fill( found in the Custom Shapes tools ) and then changing the stitch
direction and or stitch length, an unlimited assortment of patterns can be
created in DS and be saved as "Custom Fills".

You can also select a fill element in the project tree, then click on "Insert
Outline" then select the "Custom Shapes", split & Tile any one of dozens of
shapes and have them sew right into the fill creating all kinds of special
effects.....

What level of DS are you currently operating with? Design Shop Pro+ is the
highest level at present and is a very user frindly but powerful program.
Granted, other folks have learned to use other programs and after the learning
curve is over, either like them or hate them too....

Depending on what you are specifically trying to do, it will also depend on
what level of DS you have and how many bells and whistles you have available to
you...so DS can do this without a problem too.........

DS Lite allows adding names but is very limited to any indepth editing. Design
Shop gives you more editing and bordering capability. DS Pro starts giving you
real digitizing ability and DS Pro+ has it all, but is more $$$$$....
