Don't know if this is the same thing, but I have had what I think is the same
problem. In my case it has happened after a thread or bobbin break and
re-start. It shifted almost a 1/4" to one side. The last time was on an
extremely expensive large piece of leather and I nearly had a heart attack.
Fortunately the Custom Car Interior guy was very understanding and gave me
another piece of leather. Once you've poked holes in a piece of leather theirs
no going back. I believe it's a software glitch. When it's happened I note
the stitch number I stopped at, reset the design, re-center, re-trace. Move to
the stitch number and start again. Usually lines up in just the right spot as
long as you don't un hoop. I have never called Melco about it. But I've
worked with computers for years and tend to accept that sometimes there are
glitches.
