Okay, now this question. I have a BabyLock machine which is identical to the Brother. The bobbins won't wind on it. That's why I'm confused about the Brother bobbin winder. Do you know the difference? I'm glad you actually did this process because that gives me confidence in the referral. Thanks! Someone posted yesterday this link to the Brother PR-600 bobbin winder. It may say Brother but the bobbins are the same as the Amaya bobbins. http://www.brothermall.com/Accessories/Accessorydetail.aspx?AccessID=PRBW1 Just last night I wound ARC poly on metal "L" bobbins for the Amaya with my Singer 301-A "vintage" sewing machine. By the way I made some free standing lace. -----Original Message----- From: amayausers-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:amayausers-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Studio 187 LLC Sent: Wednesday, September 19, 2007 5:30 AM To: amayausers@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [amayausers.com] Re: Bobbin Winder I guess I asked the question incorrectly. I have a Brother Espire for my quilting and sewing needs. LOVE it! I have two Amaya XT's for my embroidery needs. What I want to do is occasionally wind my own bobbins to be used in the XT. My Brother doesn't wind size L bobbins and I have not found a source for pre-wound colored bobbins. Only white and black. I'm looking for a winder just for the times I want to embroider free-standing lace, etc. on the Amaya XT and white or black thread in the bobbin is unacceptable for the particular project. Anyone know of a bobbin winder for the Amaya XT? Thank you all for trying to help. I just checked and our standard bobbin size fits on the winder that is on the machine. Cost for a factory refurb SE-270D - $299. http://www.sewvacdirect.com/brother_se270d_fs.html?k=SE270D&se=adwords&p=0&g clid=COiWhtaSzo4CFQQjPAoddAiL-A So, you get a nice machine for normal sewing... back up embroidery (for say names and simple one color designs) and a bobbin winder all for $100 more than the bobbin winder ;) Of course, I am sure that the bobbin winder alone is faster but if you are just doing small runs of specific colors, it's a thought. I think they are from the 1950's and can be found at garage sales and E-Bay. Great machine for straight stitching too.
