Actually it can be very common. It depends on two factors. One - how you hoop
and Two - how cleen you keep that arm! Clean the arm daily with a little sewing
oil to remove any debris and remove friction. Don't over oil or you may see a
stain on a garment. When hooping, keep the ring level with the bottom of the
hoop. That should do it!
