So, does it make sense to keep on trying to build a native gcc version for m68k-amigaos / m68k-amigaoshunk and report my problems? Or should I try to work on the handling of relative branches to external references myself? I do not pretend that I totally understand what you are saying. But I think I got the basic idea what is wrong. So, could you give me some pointers to documentation about the Amiga hunk format and the a.out format? Or are there smaller and easier problems I could start with? I am only an application programmer with some knowledge in C and M68k assembler (at work I use only Java). So, I do not have much knowledge about compilers :( But I am willing to learn...
