*Purpose* for sharing this bit : /May/ help some «normies» into
/actually questioning/ conventional-wisdom.
*Example :* A local store-clerk was wearing a face-mask the first couple
of times I came across her. The store of course also has that
plastic-shield between the cashier-area and customers checking out.
Anyway, the next couple of times I shopped, I talked a bit about
science, but, done in such a way as to eventually result in me seeing
that she was no longer mask-wearing the next couple of times I went
shopping at that store for some quick supplies (only because they are
within walking distance). What did I say ?
I went something like...: «YES, *science* can /always be trusted/,
because *science*//is /always right/, will /never/ be wrong, can /never
/be wrong, and has /never/ /been/ wrong... well... /except/ for that
time when *science* /insisted/ that heavier-than-air flying machines
were impossible, and that time when *science* /insisted/ that rocks do
not fall from the sky, and I guess also that other time when *science*
/insisted/ that continents cannot float, along with that other time that
science insisted that faster-than-horse courrier was impossible, and
let's also not forget about that time when *science* /insisted/ that
sound could not be reproduced without a ventriloquist, nor that other
time when *science* /insisted/ that pictures cannot move, oh yes and
also that other time when *science* /insisted/ that it was /impossible/
to fit a whole library's worth of information into a container the size
of a thumb, along with that other time when *science* /insisted/ that
instant-communication across the world between different continents was
impossible, and not to mention that other time when *science*/insisted/
that... well, you get the idea, anyway, because... /*SCIENCE!!!*/ We can
_always_ trust it ! =D»
I may or may not have made reference to how putting that plastic-shield
between cashiers & customers was a «science» we can «trust» in (I
probably didn't but I did point to and thus probably imply that such a
thing exists because we all «wisely» choose to /trust the science/...) I
am sure I can also come up with some «history doesn't & never repeats
itself» version of this bit but we'll go with the «science» for now.
/*SCIENCE*/, man, you can /always trust it no matter what/... because it
has /obviously never repeated/ /any/ of the mistakes that have /ever/
been made throughout history /!/ (This is all of course supposed to be
Satire... I believe that Satire may be amongst the most-effective
antidotes to Nefarious Political Double-Speak so be sure to keep these
references at hand...)
