Peggy,
Thanks for the beautiful words of expressions.
So well put.
I did not know Barbara, but have heard many wonderful things about her. My heart goes out to her sons and the community. Carrie Carter Sends her hellos to you.

Barbara was loved by so many of us.

She was a dear friend to me, wonderful mentor and the best fellow counselor anyone could ask to work with.

While she was truly an outstanding RCB, she was even more outstanding as a loving Mom and friend.

She would be so pleased with all the kind words, appreciation and warmth shared by our community.

She was a truly gracious lady filled with class and humility, and she never liked a fuss. She always deserved acknowledgment for her talents and accomplishments.

But like those who understand what really matters in the long run; Barbara understood the reward of caring about others, making sacrifices, giving back to our community and working hard behind the sceens instead of seeking RCB celebraty as it is so often the case with DOR counselors.

She knew to partner with our consumers in achieving successful outcomes was not only a victory for one of our consumers, but a victory for the entire blind community when one of us overcame barriers, and got a job or gained independence and self reliance in another way. I always enjoyed working with another RCB who never lost sight of our Mission at Rehab.

She sincerely cared about each and every one of her consumers, and she still loved her job with the Department even after 11 years.

For those who were working with her, do not worry. What I'm able to share with you is even now you're being assigned counselors who will continnue what Barbara put in place for you. This is all I can say, but it's going to be ok.

Please keep making progress; because this is the best way to honor her memory, and honor yourselves.

We were all blessed to know this incredible kind unique human being. Her spirit will always remain with each and every one of us She will remain in our hearts.

Thank you all for such kind words celebrating the increddible life of Barbara Messinger.

ps. Ok now, I'm back on topic of adaptive tech, and I appreciate those who may not have known her being considerate enough to listen. It was important to acknowledge such a treasured member and role model in our community. But that's all I'll post here on this list.

Christine.

How lovely of you to pay tribute to Barbara with your kind words. She was,
indeed, a remarkable woman who had a passion for giving her Clients every
opportunity to grow and learn. She was also a wonderful mother and friend
to so many.

Thank you also for your kind words about ATS. We are honored and blessed to
have an opportunity to work with people like YOU!

Warmest thoughts,
Kate

I had her for a short as a counselor when I lived in California. I thought she was great. She was able to pull some strings for me to participate in
the National statler center for carrerrs in Hospitality Service program.
Plus, she was able to get me some of the equipment needed when I moved up
here to Idaho. Wayne Scott

I am sure we all know that on Friday, Barbra Messinger passed away. She was

the counselor of many of us who allowed us to either participate in the
workshops put on by ATS, and receive the fine work and training of Adaptive

Tech. She leaves behind two young sons, 20 and 18. She will be sorely
missed.
For those of us who had her as a counselor and can attest to the fact that

she was one of the best I have ever had, I know there may be some
uncertainty as to what will happen next. I cannot answer that. All we can
do is know that the department is just learning of this as well and is
shocked by it also, and that all will be worked out in time.
Many blessings to all,

Christina
PS, sorry to those who will be receiving this twice and who may not know
who this person is
