Just in case you have a technical support question that you can't get answered,
you might try

If anyone else has trouble with AVG shutting off, I installed it again as a
repair. It worked on both my computers. It just surprises that I am the only
one that had trouble with AVG 8.0. shutting off since it happened to both my
computers.
