Dear friends,
The spring concerts were amazing! I had a lot of fun working the songs with
you. Your work and commitment to the group were outstanding and it showed well
to our audiences. Kudos!!!
I have put together a playlist of the works that are slated for the Fall 2003
season. You will find variety here. Some we have done, some are new. I am
really looking forward to performing this program with you. Link here.
I have placed them in what I "think" will be program order. After the Hazo
piece, Ride (closer) I have provided resource material. If you have time,
please invest a couple of hours in La Foza del Destino. Verdi was a badass.
Notable full versions not available on YT are Placido Domingo in the lead tenor
role (a favorite of mine). Another favorite is with Monserrat Caballé in the
role of Donna Leonora. I placed this one at the end since it does not have
subtitles and the sound quality is terrible. If you can acquire these on your
own I think that your musical life will be seriously enriched. Also, the
Delibes Sylvia is a good introduction to those of us who are not accustomed to
liking ballets. The plot is silly but the music is great!
Cheers,
Robert
