October 8 - 10, 2009 @ Omni Hotel Corpus Christi - Marina Tower


Greetings:

The Association for Computer Educators in Texas (ACET<http://texasacet.org/>) 
is celebrating its 45th annual conference at the Omni Hotel Corpus Christi - 
Marina Tower, October 8-10, 2009.  The ACET Board of Directors invite you to 
submit a 100-250-word abstract of your paper and/or a 100-250 word proposal for 
presentation, panel session, roundtable discussion, workshop, or tutorial on 
the following topics:

*         Computer Education Globalization

*         Computer Education Curricula K-PHD

*         Operating Systems


*          Emerging Technologies

*         Business Applications

*         Other Applicable Computer-Related Topics

*         Media Applications

*         Topics of Interest to Computer Educators

*         Computer Faculty Issues and Concerns

*         State Government Educational Issues

*         Student Recruitment, Assessment and Retention

*         Student Research or Projects







Please complete the Call for Presentation Proposal 
Form<http://texasacet.org/2009Conference/Proposal.doc> located on our website 
and email it to conference@xxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:conference@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> by 
April 15, 2009 deadline.  Please keep in mind that all submissions will be 
double-blind reviewed and paper abstracts and proposals that are scheduled for 
presentation will be published in the Conference Proceedings.  Furthermore, the 
top five percent of accepted completed papers will be automatically accepted 
for publication in the ACET Journal of Computer Education and 
Research<http://www.texasacet.org/journal.htm> - our online, peer-reviewed 
journal.  At least one author/presenter is required to register for the 
conference by September 15, 2009 in order for the paper or presentation to be 
scheduled for delivery at the conference and inclusion in the Proceedings.

Author/Presenter Notification: May 15, 2009

Author/Presenter Registration: September 15, 2009

Call For Student Presentations
Student Presentation Prizes are:
First Place $200, Second Place $150, Third Place $100, and Fourth Place $50.

Posters will be judged 1-5pm, then winners will be announced and prizes awarded 
at the Friday night Business Meeting Banquet on October 9, 2009 @ Omni Bayfront 
Hotel in Corpus Christi.

Greetings:
The Association for Computer Educators in Texas (ACET) Board of Directors and 
program committee invite undergraduate or graduate students to complete the 
Proposal Form located on the Call for Presentation link at 
http://texasacet.org<http://texasacet.org/>,  including a 100-250 word 
abstract, and send as an email attachement to 
studentsubmissions@xxxxxxxxxxxxx<mailto:studentsubmissions@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> . 
Examples of appropriate material for student presentations include: technology 
related challenging class projects, undergraduate or graduate research 
projects, Master Thesis work, internship reports, and other research 
experiences. Presentations may be accompanied by a demonstration of the 
software or system developed by the student.
Please keep in mind that all student submissions will be double-blind reviewed 
and successful applicants will be scheduled for Student Poster-styled 
presentations. At least one presenter is required to register for the 
conference by September 15, 2009 in order for the presentation to be scheduled 
for delivery at the conference. Abstracts of Student Presentations  will be 
published in the Conference Proceedings. Accepted Student Presentations will be 
judged on the following criteria:
Content Quality, Quality of Data, Opportunity for Further Research or 
Development, Innovative Presentation Technique and Visual Impact,  and 
Relevance to Computing.
            The student presentation portion of the ACET Annual Conference is 
designed to provide an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students in 
computer science, information systems, information technology digital gaming, 
and related disciplines to present the results of their research or development 
projects, to meet with faculty and researchers, and to network with their 
fellow students from other colleges and universities. Student registration is 
$25 and includes conference attendance as well as lunch and dinner on October 
9th.

Conference in Corpus Christi: October 8 - 10, 2009
