Update: Annette Sutherland (Department of Education NSW), Leone Carroll
(VisAbility) and Pauline Hope (Education Queensland) volunteered to participate
in working group (4) looking at standards and guidelines for producing tactile
graphics. Is anyone else interested in joining them?
With thanks to our trusty minute-taker for alerting me to this oversight, Leona

Subject: [accessiblegraphics] Meeting minutes and formation of working groups
Dear ANZAGG members, I am pleased to share with you the minutes (including
reports) from the ANZAGG annual meeting held in Perth this month. The minutes
are attached and can also be accessed from the ANZAGG web page at
http://printdisability.org/about-us/accessible-graphics/.
It was fantastic to hear about all the work that is being done in the field of
accessible graphics, both from participants and as written reports from those
unable to attend. Next year we may need to set aside more time as there was
such a lot to talk about.
While we do not yet have a national executive, we would like to progress the
work of the group through a number of small working groups:
1. Leona Holloway (Monash) and Maria Stevens (Blind Foundation NZ) will work on
refining the ANZAGG Terms of Reference so that we are ready to elect a national
executive in 2018.
2. Trish Bishop (BLENNZ), Deb Lewis (SVRC Victoria), Louise Curtin (Feelix
Library) and Galiema Gool (Department of Education NSW) will discuss the
principles and methods for teaching children how to read tactile graphics.
3. We discussed the concept of creating a national repository for tactile
graphic masters. Some organisations have already started looking at digitising
and cataloguing their collections internally. The first step is to talk to
librarians about cataloguing issues. Can you put us in touch with someone
suitable??? I will also put out a call on the Round Table listserv.
4. We ran out of time to discuss a working group on guidelines and standards
for tactile graphics production. Please let us know if you are interested in
joining a working group to explore this area.
All working groups will report back to ANZAGG as they make progress.
Your questions/comments/discussion is now invited. With kind regards,
Leona
