Hi Leona,
My name is Sue Grech. I have been a transcriber with the ACT Department of
Education for 20 years. Am loving your Facebook page and enjoy reading and
learning about the different ideas people have when producing tactile diagrams
and other things vision related that are share on your sight.
I was also thinking that examining existing guidelines for tactile graphic
production is an important issue, everyone seems to do things slightly
different and would be great if we were all doing the same for ease of use for
students. I would also love to hear from anyone on how they go about their
production. We produce the school curriculum for students from Kindergarten to
Year 12 and do have a vast knowledge of production, however am sure that we
take the longest route sometimes in our production of materials.
Unfortunately are unable to attend round table, it would be invaluable to us if
we were able to attend, however.
I would appreciate it if you were able to forward me any notes/minutes/info
that you collect and add me to any groups so we can contribute if and when
possible.
Look forward to hearing from you. Enjoy Perth.
Kind Regards
Sue Grech

Subject: [accessiblegraphics] ANZAGG priorities
Hi all,
I realise that many of you will be unable to attend the upcoming ANZAGG meeting
in Perth on 8 May.
We will distribute the meeting reports and a summary of the meeting itself but
I would also like to provide you with an opportunity now to add to the
discussion on a number of points:
1. What committee structure would you like for the group? A small (elected)
committee with a number of working groups?
2. What do you see as the main priorities for the coming year?
a. Setting up a repository to share general tactile graphics masters. Round
Table has promised structural support.
b. Share and evaluate pedagogy for teaching tactile graphics.
c. Examine existing guidelines for tactile graphic production, with the aim of
identifying agreed standards/recommendations.
d. Communications. Are the ANZAGG listserv, facebook group and web pages
serving their intended purposes? Can you suggest improvements or streamlining?
e. Anything else?
and most importantly ...
3. Are you willing to join a working group or two to progress the areas above
in which you are most interested?
Over to you. Your thoughts, please?
With kind regards,
Leona
