It's been a while since I've played the first quest, but I think you just double tap the quest button, double tap the quest you want to go on and then double tap the fight button. You'll need to make sure you have enough food, but this shouldn't be a problem for the first quest. You also may need to select the hero for your party, but for the first quest, I think you just have the one hero, and I think they're already included in your party. Good luck!
