Hi, point taken and highly valid but I'm not arguing. I pray and hope the bluetooth support for braille displays hasn't gone away but I'm all for the handwriting thing, but if you can type on a screen, where does handwriting on a touch screen come in? For the record and for yours and others' general information, I did attempt to learn to write the full alphabet in print symbols and used to know some cursive letters by feel and did learn to write my name but can feel regular print capital letters even though I've never seen anything, but how does this work? I see no way for raised drawings to appear on a touch screen and how can it help sighted folks? Can it help us write our own checks independently? I commend Apple for this one,  forces blind to join the sighted world with
writing those understand, insteadof us trying to force them into ours with
Braille.    Ok, slight overStated,  but Apple didn't need a braille
specialist to do this, and it has a wider market; but we are a part of
that....   it's not a bad thing to learn to write in aisighted way, you
might need to communicate with a sighted person without all this technology. There must be tutorial material for those that have never written in sighted 
symbols,  and the rest will remember them well enough. Given how some are
struggling with Braille apps anyway, and a good many late to blindness never 
learned Braille anyway;  so learning this is hardly going to be any worse
than that.
The wider market? those with motor skills that can't hit the teeny virtual 
keyboard buttons for example. They might manage this easier.

JMO, and all valid,  whatever else you might think of it.

Go to a text field double tap on it to edit then use the rotor and you
should see handwriting.
