I didn't know there was such thing as Bluetooth GPS Receivers.
As far as I know and have read on the Applevis site regarding Navigon North America, see this link: http://www.applevis.com/apps/ios/navigation/navigon-north-america
I'm sure there are podcasts on this app as well.

Teachers have a sacred task:
It is to give children the skills to understand the world and an expectation
that the world is a trustworthy place; that it is full of light, and love, and
music and that each student deserves--and will have--their own place in it and
the chance to play their own song.
And, as much of these expectations are transmitted non-verbally—and in Chela’s
case--out of sight…it is the voice and touch of a Teacher that sheds light on
what the world can be.
Academics—and no one will ever change my mind on this—take a distant second
place. —Dr. Bil Hawkins

Navigon is the only one I know of that caches maps and therefor does
not need a connection. You cannot attach a GPS receiver physically,
but you can get a supported bluetooth receiver. Before you buy it,
though, do more investigation into Navigon, as I only know it can use
offline maps; it may well need an internect connection for some other
reason, I don't know for sure.

Hi;
Apologies if this has been covered long ago but are there any gps
aps that can be used with the i-touch? Obviously they would have
to be aps that don't require an internet connection. Don't know
if a gps receiver can be plugged into the port on the i-touch.
