Oh ok Thanks Beto I'm going to try that today, I want to get the hang of this new concept! Smiles.

Hi first let me explain the methods on the iPhone.
1. Touch typing refers to sliding a finger along the screen until the character
is found then lift it off to enter it on to the text field.
2. standard typing: this is the method where the device is set to double tap on
every character you want to enter, or spit tapping by placing the finger you
use to find the letters with on the disired one, then tapping on the screen
anywhere you like.
Way to change these is simple while in the text field just turn your rotor
until you hear typing mode then choose the one you want by flicking up or down.
I do suggest changing the rotor after making your selection to prevent an
accidental change.

Wait just a minute, please back up a bit for me?
What is the difference between standard and touch typing because I know that
touch typing on the computer is where you don't look at the keys as you type.
Well since this can be accomplished, how does one toggle the setting for the
mode of standard/touch typing? I thought I was already doing touch typing by
double-tapping the character to type into an Imessage to a friend of mine for
example, if that is not touch typing, then, what is it, and how does one do
that on the IPod Touch 5?
Sorry if I came in late to this discussion.

Suppose the keyboard is divided into 3 quadrants: with the index finger
you use the asdf qwer area; with the middle finger the ghty area and
with the ring finber, the uiomnp area. Takes practice but it can be
done! The fun is to be able to get the fingers to coordinate, which it's
a natural feeling once you get the hang of it. Oh and Iuse this method
while on Touch Typing mode. Good luck!

Hi. I usually have my phone in touch typing mode. Today I'm going to
try the
3 finger method and see how it goes. I will practise within the notes
app!
At the moment I'm having to carry two phones on me everyday.

I prefer the keyboard to b on the front as it's easier to type. I'm
not a
fan of slide out keyboards as I can't seem to position my fingers
properly
and I type as slow as I do on the touch screen keyboard. If I could
master
typing quickly on the touch screen with fair speed! then I would go back
to using the iPhone as my main phone. I have been practising for 2 years
now and I'm no quicker. I suppose some people have got it and others
like
me fall by the way side.

I agree with Beto. Apple is all about eliminating physical buttons,

not
the first touch screen device, but it was the best and most innovative.
They are not going to take a huge step back from the soft keyboard,
which
can display any language-specific keys, numbers, punctuation, emoticons,
and more. Besides, there are cases for the iPhone with physical
keyboards
built in if that's your thing, so you get the best of both worlds.

Yes older hard wear is my guess if the iPhone c comes to be true it will
be
a plastic form factor like was mentioned before possibly a lower res
camera
like a 5 MP, and ram I am guessing you will be looking at something the
iPhone 4 is running.
For price ranges I would guess it will be around $100 us dollars
possibly

for free on contract. If you buy it out right you in my guess will be
paying a price range if $300 to $400.

Good afternoon,
Here is the promised thread. So I can definitely agree with what a lot

of you were saying, they may make it cheaper but I don't think it will

be cheap cheap. I think it will still leave some people in the dark,
because there are other platforms and other devices that, for the sake

of things, shall go unnamed here. And, to put it in perspective, these

things are definitely cheaper than any current iPhone. As I have said
before, it will definitely be interesting to see what the new hardware

does offer.
