Here is a work around but why not use Internet Explorer on sites where Firefox doesn't work properly with your screen-reader. Mozilla doesn't put proper attention into making sure accessibility is properly implemented in its chronic and compulsive updates of Firefox. I've tried a few versions starting with version 4 and all of them have one or more annoying access problems. As a work around, try the following: Start at the top of the page. type f until you get to a list. I believe the list has three items. If you arrow down the list, you will find enter as a word in the list. But you probably don't have to look around. Try typing f once, then turn browse mode off with control shift a. Now tab to the edit field, type whatever you are looking for and press enter. If browse mode doesn't automatically turn back on after about four seconds, try to turn it on manually with the same command you used to turn it off, control shift a. If you can't turn it on, use Internet Explorer for the site, a browser that, despite the criticism heaped on it by the antiMicrosoft crowd, is a good browser and which Microsoft takes proper care to keep properly accessible.
