I'm running Windows XP.

As for the settings you mentioned, I have no idea how to go about checking
them.

What version of Windows are you using. If you are using Vista, you can
control the volume of every audio source independently. If you are using
earlier versions of Windows, you can't. You either need two sound cards,
one for JAWS and one for everything else or you need a hardware
synthesizer or you need to experiment with something such as turning off
Active X controls to see if that stops the music from playing while still
leaving the site functional enough for you to use. I should add a
possible option I didn't think about until this point in the message. You
may have s setting in the advanced settings of Internet Explorer for not
allowing or not allowing audio to be played om web pages. I don't know
how effective this setting is. You may need someone's help other than
mine to find this setting because, though I could find it in Internet
Explorer 6, I can't tell you where it is in later versions. I haven't
used 7 or 8.

I haven't looked at the specific sites you referenced yet, though I'll
probably do so tomorrow. But the most important first question is what
version of Windows are you using.

Hi all,

Really annoying issue here!

On a few sites I visited lately, there is music being played so loud that
I can't hear JAWS in order to know what information is on screen.

Is there a way to adjust the volume of music on these pages.

To get a better understanding of the problem I'm discussing, visit either
of the following websites:

Pop/reggae artist Maxi Priest's website

Jazz guitarist Lee Ritenour's website
